Hello & Welcome Back!!!!!!!
It was a good first day. We are working on getting ourselves settled into our 1st grade classroom and routines. Throughout the week, I'll be introducing the kids to many of the things we will be experiencing in first grade. Today we took a tour of the school to check out all the classroom and places they'll be using in school this year. I am looking forward to getting to know the kids this week! I appreciate your help with the student surveys....they really help me get to know them a little bit faster.
Tomorrow we have our first all school mass (K-12) at 9:45 and computers in the afternoon.
Look for folders to come home on Wednesday filled with notes from the school office. This folder will come with a variety of notes for you to look over. Please return any correspondence in the same folder. Starting Wednesday, this folder will come home daily in case there is a need to send items back and forth to school. Students will be responsible for bringing the folder to and from school each day. Please remember to check the folder for information on a regular basis.
Starting next week, I'll be sending the first homework folder. It will come home on Tuesday and it should be returned by Friday. We will start off with a spelling list, reading log, and math.
I will be taking some time over the next few weeks to provide some info on different things that might need a little extra explanation. If you think of any questions along the way feel free to contact me at any time. Don't forget to mark your calendars for curriculum night coming up on Sept. 18.
Don't forget to pack a snack & cold lunch for the rest of the week :)
The students also brought home a mini "get to know you" homework assignment. Don't forget to bring it back tomorrow :)
Have a great week!
