I am pleased to let you know that the student are hard at work transforming into "super 2nd graders"! As we are entering the last part of the school year I am motivating the kids to become their best so that they can show they are ready for 2nd grade.
We are working on many different aspects of this, most importantly though we are striving to treat others with kindness and respect at all times. To kick this off to a great start we are working on 26 days of random acts of kindness, becoming "bucket fillers" http://www.bucketfillers101.com/faqs.php, and being a good friend to all. I am really proud of some of the changes I have already seen in the kids last week and today. It is really encouraging to see them support each other and make some new friends. Parents - you can help at home by reminding your child to keep showing kindness to all and to help them talk about their acts of kindness! I am sure they will be happy to share about how good it feels to be a good friend!
We are also attempting to become experts in 3 Bee behaviors! Our goal is to make some videos demonstrating appropriate 3 Bee behaviors that we can share with the SJCA community! I am looking forward to the students having the chance to be role models! Please keep encouraging your child to help set a good example for others at school!
Tomorrow we celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph with an all school mass @ 9:40. Please send in 1 non-parishable food item with your child for this special mass. We will be creating a St. Joseph table.
