Weekly Update *~Merry Christmas~*

We'll its almost Christmas break....I think the kids can make it through one more day! :)

Tomorrow ~ Tuesday Dec. 20 - Students can wear red or green tops and their choice of bottoms!

Today, the kids brought home the paper "gingerbread" houses that we made with our buddies last Friday. The kids had a good time creating their houses and enjoying a snack together. Friday afternoon we had a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the 2nd grade international fair. Each of the 2nd graders highlighted a country in their heritage and presented songs, information, and food from that country. We had a great time learning about so many different countries.

Today the students had another special treat. We read the book Polar Express this morning. Each student recieved bracelet with bells (and they all ring because we all believe)! This afternoon following music we enjoyed the movie version. Tomorrow we are looking forward to comparing and contrasting the two.

Tomorrow we'll try to stick to our regular routine in the morning. Our centers will contain several Christmas themed activities. The students should have at least 2 guided reading books that came home last week. Hopefully, we can squeeze in one more session tomorrow so that they have an additional book to practice with over break. We will also have mass tomorrow. In the afternoon the kids will take part in a classroom Christmas party.

Tomorrow they will be bringing home a gift that they made for you (parents). Please be careful because they are breakable. *hint (you might want to open it and use it over the holidays :) *

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See you in 2012!!!!!!
