- Students can wear red tops with uniform bottoms (red dresses are ok for girls)
- Students can bring their cards to school and we'll exchange cards in the afternoon
Academics for the week -
Tomorrow's centers will be Valentine Themed! We'll be using our literacy and math skills in lots of fun ways!
Reading: read alouds will focus on making predictions and making inferences. New guided reading books will come home with students Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday. Old books will be changed out each week on Tuesdays. Keep up the at home practice to work on sight work recognition and to build fluency. At school we are focusing on making connections as we read our guided reading books. The students are making connections to themselves, to another text, or to the world around them.
Six Flags reading forms went home last week. Please remember to sign and return your forms. We are also going to log our minutes at school to reach the 360 minute goal if you do not have time to do it at home. As long as you return the signed form your child will receive the free ticket to Great America.
Writing: Word sorting, spelling words by stretching out sounds, journaling.
Math: Continuing with 3D shapes. We are also graphing the temperature daily for the month of February. Shapes (2D/3D), symmetry, & graphing would all be great skills to practice with IXL!
Social Studies - We'll continue studying some of our past Presidents as we approach President's Day
Religion - We are going to focus on bible stories & next week we'll discuss Lent.
Remember to return your registration forms as soon as possible to assure that your child has a place reserved for first grade next fall!
