Last week was an exciting week. We were soooo busy but we were able to have a fun filled week together learning with lots of different Dr. Seuss activities. The kids loved the movie on Friday...it was so much fun to see them having such a great time at the theater! Friday we also had two great guest readers....thank you very much Mrs. DeRousse & Mr. Roscioli for coming in and sharing your time with our class.
Things we are working on this week include -
For the month of March we've starting tracking the number of "lion" and "lamb" weather days. We are having fun talking about what it means to be a lion or a lamb and making our choice for the correct representation each day! So far we've only had lions...looking forward to a few lambs soon :)
Reading - a continuation on making inferences and connections with the texts we are reading. Students are doing this during guided reading and our read alouds. Continuing with word work, building reading stamina, reading comprehension, high frequency words, and more with literacy centers.
Writing - writing simple sentences with a focus on using capital letters and punctuation. Working on making first and second drafts of writing to make corrections.
Math - Introducing money this week.
Religion - Bible stories (continued) along with Lent and Easter.
Social Studies - Introducing needs and wants
Looking ahead to next week...
St. Patrick's Day activities next Friday
Friday is a 1/2 day of school.
