Weekly Update - Week 2

Here's what is happening at school this week

•  Hot lunch has started, help you child remember if they are having hot or cold lunch each day
• Remember to pack a healthy snack daily (even if they are taking hot lunch)
• The kids have been doing great so far, they are all adjusting well to life in kindergarten!

Literacy (reading & writing) -

• introducing reading centers, practicing rules & routines in centers
• mini lessons on nursery rhymes, concept sorts, abc letters and sounds
• assessment - letter and sound recognition

Math -

• introducing the daily math routine
• number activities for numbers 1-5

Religion -

• God made all things / God's gifts to us

Social Studies

• families

Science

• living things

Social Skills

• Listening skills
• focusing attention
• review of the 3 Bee rules at school

Looking ahead -

• picture day Thursday September 11 (students can wear dress clothes to school)
