Weekly Update - Week #5

Here's what is happening this week -

Coming up this week -

• Friday we'll be learning about Johnny Appleseed with lots of fun learning activities. Please send in 2-3 apples with your child on Friday!
• Friday is NFL Day - students can wear NFL tops & jeans.
• Friday is also the first Friday fun lunch if your ordered for your child.

Reminders -

• All About Me posters were due today. Please wrap up any remaining sections and send to school ASAP. Students will present their posters this week.

Literacy (reading & writing) -

• reading centers - student will be working on sorting rhyming words, Lexia, listening to books, reading to self, ABC art books, & handwriting skills
• in small groups we will work on pre-reading skills, tracking print, & comparing story books & poems
• We are also continuing daily practice with our letter sounds

Math -

• counting objects in groups
• comparing numbers through 10
• number writing, practice correct formation of numbers 1-5

Religion -

•  God created water

Handwriting -

• practicing basic handwriting skills before we move onto letter shapes
