Catholic Schools Week 2012

Tuesday – January 31st - 100th Day of School – Create a Crazy Hat to go with the 100th Day of
School – Uniform Day – (Don’t forget to pack a lunch - No Hot Lunch Provided)

Wednesday – February 1st - Jump Rope for Heart – Wear a Red Shirt and Athletic Bottoms – SJCA Spelling Bee Finalists Competition 4:30pm – Open House Both Campuses 8:00 – 11:00am

Thursday – February 2nd – NOON Release – Special Schedule and Activities with Multi-Age Groups – 5th Grade Student vs Staff Volleyball Game – wear your favorite sports shirt or character shirt and any bottoms

Friday – February 3rd – Spirit Day and “NEW Spirit Shirt” & Jeans – All School Bowling Sheridan Lanes – Faculty Ice Cream Social 5:30 – 7:00 pm St. Mark Gym with Special Performances by SJCA Students including the high school cast of Anything Goes, SJCA Grade 3 – 5 Singers, & Montessori Students.

We have a lot of fun things planned for the students this week! Today we enjoyed participating in mass with all the Kenosha Catholic School Children...what a great experience for our kids :)

Tomorrow - 100th day of school. We'll be doing a day filled with 100 themed learning activities.

Academics for the week -

Reading: read alouds will focus on making predictions and making inferences
Writing: 100 themed book with various writing activities, 100 word writing the room contest, word sorting, spelling words by stretching out sounds
Math: Testing on 2D shapes / introducing 3D shapes, 100 chart activities, measuring 100 footprints
Social Studies: finishing up with Lunar New Year Lesson

Thinking ahead...we will be having a classroom Valentine's Day Party. I will send home a name list via email later in the week if the students are interested in labeling the cards for friends. If sending cards please include one card for all 19 students!
