What an exciting weekend its been for our SJCA family. Our school is thrilled that Mrs. Kaeppeler's daughter Laura has been crowned Miss America. What an accomplishment! She will be a wonderful role model for the students of SJCA. We all celebrated today by welcoming back Miss America's mom during our usual Monday morning assembly! See the Kenosha News video of this morning on the right. More photos are available on the Kenosha News website as well...and there should be an article in tomorrow's (Tuesday's) paper. TMJ 4 Also featured our school on the evening news!!!!!
Today we also had the chance to read about Martin Luther King Jr. The kids were very interested in learning about all the important things that he did.
We have a busy week ahead with only 3 more school days and a lot to accomplish. Remember Friday is a No School Day.
I will be doing several individual assessments on the student this week. Look for these results to arrive next week along with your child's 2nd trimester progress report.
Book - It forms went home in folders today. I had held off to see to if any December sheets were coming in...but now its time to move on to January. Students have the remainder of the Month to read 8 books and return their form to school.
In the Wednesday folders please look for information regarding my Action Research project through Cardinal Stritch University. All students will need a signed permission slip if you are allowing them to participate in this research study. Please read over the information and let me know if you have any other questions prior to signing the consent form. I appreciate the opportunity to work with the students for this project!
We had our first student of the week presentation today! Maddie did a wonderful job sharing her beautiful poster and photos! She will draw a name for the next Student of the Week on Thursday.
