Coming up this week -
- Book Orders due on Wednesday (paper copies can be returned to school or orders can be placed online)
- Friday - Field trip to Swan's Pumpkin Farm. Student should pack a lunch in a disposable bag. They can wear jeans and new spirit wear shirts. Please dress for the weather, we'll be outside most of the day. Chaperones - look for more details about the trip coming soon.
- Student brought home their first homework assignments today. Included is one page of math and a writing prompt. Homework will be given on Monday & returned on Friday.
- In addition to the paper homework students can begin practicing the high frequency word list in their folders. I will be changing their word list into an easier to practice sheet called "One Breath Boxes" look for those to be added to Bee books tomorrow. These lists will help build reading fluency.
- Lexia should also be practiced at home for a minimum of 20 minutes per week. They can practice daily if they want but no more than 20 minutes per day is necessary.
- Reading - reading daily at home is important to your child's literacy development. They can read on their own or listen to someone read. The more they are exposed to the better!
- In the student "Bee Books" I sent home the October Book-it form. Students that complete the majority of the calendar and return it to school will earn a coupon for a free pizza. Any reading at home can count. Including listening to stories or working on reading skills in Lexia! Let me know if you have any questions.
