Weekly Update 7

Here's what is happening this week -

Coming up this week -

• Remember NO SCHOOL on Friday for teacher convention!
• Tomorrow - vision & hearing screening in the morning

Book-It Program-

• In the student "Bee Books" I sent home the October Book-it form. Students that complete the majority of the calendar and return it to school will earn a coupon for a free pizza. Any reading at home can count. Including listening to stories or working on reading skills in Lexia! Let me know if you have any questions. 

Things we need or wish for in the classroom -

• glass jars with lids (spaghetti sauce size or larger) for a science project
• Play-Doh for our reading/literacy centers
• brown paper bags (grocery bag size)

Literacy (reading & writing) -

• counting syllables
• continuing with our ABC art books
• small groups working on letter ID, letter sounds, segmenting & blending words, & more phonics skills
• identifying beginning, middle, & ends of stories. Retelling the main parts of stories after read alouds

Math -

• Unit 1 test
• acting out addition & subtraction stories
• recognizing & using 5 groups
• numbers 6-10

Religion -

•  God created  animals

Handwriting -

• strait line letters (Tt) review Ii, Ll, Tt
• Letter Oo (intro to circle letters)
